Obsessed With Sweater Season

all via Lulus

I am loving sweaters this season (per usual) and I really can't stop making wishlists for them. These are some of my favorite pieces of the moment, and I think my favorite styles this fall are the asymmetrical tribal sweaters and infinity scarves.

My Madison Closet

When Jen from Bollare asked me to come in and preview the Cali based retailer Madison LA I was more than thrilled. It was really fun being able to play dress up with some amazing pieces that would be staples in any girl's wardrobe. Here's a sneak peek at my dress up from earlier this week, I really fell in love with some of the pieces, and I can't wait to check out the site a little more and see what else they have.

"Within our walls, you’ll find pieces from recognizable names to emerging designers, covering the gamut of the girl wanting the latest trends, to professionals trying to dress for work and morph into party attire and the hip mom looking for cute clothes for carpool or an evening out with her hubby, to a woman looking for a sophisticated outfit for her charity luncheon. Madison has it all."

Here are some pictures from the day, and some of the pieces I tried on.  This hat was definitely a go-to piece for me, and even Jen immediately knew I would love it. Isn't it awesome?!

If you haven't already go check out Madison LA , follow them on twitter, (#MyMadisonCloset) and like them on facebook for exclusive updates on new items!

***Also this is not a sponsored post, all opinions are my own, and I was not gifted for this post.

Dreaming Of Home Decor

Antique Canisters // Vintage Fan // Antique Key // Remainder of items via Fab

I have been crazy obsessed with home decor lately, and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because I know it's about that time when things start falling together, and I decide to take the plunge and move out. I really get inspired looking around websites like Terrain, Etsy, and Fab, and The Fancy, and through all of this I gather ideas for what I want my future home to look like. I really love the vintage feel (obviously) and I have been leaning towards a very "americana" style home when I picture it in my head. It's crazy how much furniture nowadays is inspired by vintage pieces. They still look modern, but the shape, or materials give it that perfect vintage feel. What websites do you guys use to find inspiration on furniture/home decor?

Here are some other sites I use:

Friday Favorites : Dresses

I am loving these summer dresses from Modcloth & Lulu's. My closet seems to be primarily 95% dresses at the moment, and I am trying to find ways to switch it up, although I am definitely a dress girl at heart. What are some of your favorite dresses this season? I am seeing an influx of prints, especially through my internship in fashion forecasting. It's crazy to see what trends are going to stick around and which ones make their way out at the end of the season. I definitely think overall patterns are here to stay, and pops of color are everywhere! Here are some other awesome sites to check out summer dresses: MissesDressy , PB&J Boutique, Kintage and Sugarlips! Happy shopping ladies!!

Thursday Haul V. 4

Hey guys! It's been a few weeks, I decided I want to do Thursday Haul posts only once every few weeks since I don't normally buy new products every week. I am really excited about today's products because they are definitely some of my favorites to date! Hope you guys enjoy the post and remember if you have any recommendations leave them in the comments!

From left to right:

This stuff is amazing, and smells delicious. I got a facial last week and the woman used this on my eye circles. It reduces puffiness on the spot and leaves your skin feeling moisturized and glowing. I have used a few under eye creams and this is my favorite thus far. The coffee bean smell is intoxicating.

This product I received as a sample from one of the Sephora goodies they send when you accrue points. I really love Ole Hendriksen products so I got a little gift bag full of his creams and serums. This one is my favorite because it can be used with sensitive skin, and leaves your skin smoother than ever. It also has a scent which makes it soothing to put on before bedtime.

Since we are on the topic of soothing scents this amazing chapstick offers that and more. It's mixed with beeswax, cocoa butter, mango, sweet almond, Vitamin E, and rosemary so your lips stay hydrated all day long. When the woman applied this on my lips during the facial I was floored by how great it smelled. I bought it immediately following my appointment and have not put it down since!

This cream is to be used between the temples, on the back of the neck, and earlobes for instant relief from headaches. Lately after my long days of staring into a computer screen, headaches are more common for me. This cream helps eliminate the headache right on the spot with its mint scent. It's also made with all natural ingredients so you know you're getting only the best!

Where do I even start with the cocoa butter swivel stick? I started using this in college and it's been my go-to lip stuff since then. I absolutely love it, I love the smell and it leaves my lips tasting like chocolate! I am a huge fan of the Palmer's cocoa butter brand (including lotions) and I usually get the most comments when I take this out to use in public. "Is that a glue stick?!" It may look like one a little bit, but trust me, it will soon be your favorite too. All my friends use it now and they agree that it's the best! (not to mention it's huge so it lasts a while)

All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If the site shows up in a different language make sure you click English right at the top right :).  I wanted to share some of my favorite items from the site that inspire me for Spring! I am really loving maxi dresses right now, long skirts, flowy tops and a lot of color. I am also loving the layering of leather jackets on top of maxi dresses and longer tops, it's definitely one of my favorite trends this season. If you have time go take a peek over to their site and tell me what your favorites are!

Vanessa Hudgens -- Flower Child

How gorgeous does Vanessa Hudgens look in the April 2013 issue of Cosmopolitan? I caught a glimpse of this spread on Facebook and instantly fell in love with the lace, gypsy styled jewelry and flower crowns. I love the hippie-bohemian looks that she wore to Coachella last year, and this year Cosmo decided to have her style some future outfits using some of her own clothing and jewelry. It's crazy how many of the items she's wearing have been featured on every day blogs that I read. She's wearing a few items from Vanessa Mooney (who I love) and these earrings from Urban that I have been swooning over for the past few months (they're on sale too).

One thing I love to do when I have down time is to sit and browse my favorite magazines and pick out pieces that I find inspiring for my own personal style. Looking through fashion magazines also helps me find out about new designers and artists that I normally wouldn't have heard of. A few of the pieces Vanessa is wearing are small New York based designers like Pamela Love, who is  now officially one of my favorites.  This editorial is making me yearn for Summer even more now. It's always fun to pick out outfits based on celebrities that style them perfectly. Are there any celebrities whose style you love to recreate?

See more photos from the spread here.

Thursday Haul V.3

So Thursday Haul has been on hiatus for the past two weeks, but after giving it some thought I want it to be a day when I post pictures/reviews of not only beauty products, but also other products I have been trying out and what I think about them.

Floral Crown- Urban Outfitters $20
I just bought this the other day and I can't lie, I am pretty excited about it. I love how big the flowers are and I really love band it came on. It's well made, and the color is perfect for Spring, I can't wait to wear it with a sundress this spring/summer!

Iconemesis - Win one here! (Buy here)
I am really excited to be giving away one of these awesome phone cases from Iconemesis. I love the design and I also really love how unique these cases are. Here are some of my favorites: one, two, three , and most of the cases are also 20% off right now, so go check them out!

Miss Jessie's Products
I was really excited about these products, and even though my hair isn't extremely curly, it's definitely got a curly-wave to it which needs some serious TLC from all the treatments throughout the years. I love the way these products smell and how my hair feels after using it, I may actually purchase the full products to use from now on.
Poppin Iphone Amplifier- $10
We received this little speaker from IFB con and after giving it a whirl, I LOVE IT. I am the girl who's always singing no matter what I'm doing. It helps amplify the sound coming from your phone which normally only reaches a certain volume. It's cute, lightweight and perfect on the go!

Thursday Haul: V.2

Hey guys, here's another installment of Thursday haul. I wanted to open up the comment platform to see if you guys had any suggestions of products I should try out. If it's something I think I could use, I will definitely look into it! Hope your week is going well!

Dove Chamomile Go Sleeveless: $4.79

Ah, deodorant. The thing no one really talks about. Whatever, we all sweat, that's life. I LOVE this stuff. Not only does it smell amazing, but it works throughout the whole day. I was using another Dove product and it actually stopped working for me, so I switched to a scented one and it keeps me sweat free-all day!

 Bare Minerals Matte Powder: $27
I have been a huge fan of bare minerals for a long time now.  I use their matte powder and it's great for skin that tends to get oily after a day of makeup. My skin feels so much smoother when I apply this and it gives me an overall glow.

Moom Wax Strips: $15.44
Another thing people don't talk about---WAXING. Ha. To be honest, I usually get my eyebrows threaded but  these strips are perfect when you don't have time to make it to the salon and you can do it yourself in the privacy of your own home. It also comes with a tiny bottle of oil to put on your skin after you pull the strips off and your skin turns red, which definitely helps the irritation.

Paul Mitchell Thicken Up: $16.25
I don't know what to say about this product. I've been using it for a week now and to be honest, I don't know if it really makes a difference for me. It's supposed to be a "styling liquid" that smooths hair out and leaves an overall "thicker" feeling. It helps out with the smoothness of my hair, but I don't think I would personally buy the product again.

Bed Head Masterpiece: $13.88
I really love this hairspray, it's definitely the only one I use every time I curl my hair. I like that it doesn't make your hair feel greasy or crunchy. It's a little on the pricier side if you buy it in the store, but amazon has it for a great price, and it lasts a long time!

Bed Head Superstar/Queen For A Day: $12.38
This stuff is pretty awesome as well. The only downfall of this product is that you can over do it if you don't brush it through your hair well enough. It's great for volume, but you really need to style your hair to feel the full potential of this product, otherwise it can make your hair greasy.

Wanna Be My Shmalentine?

Don't ask about the title, there's no real reason for that. I just felt it, so I'm going with it. I've been wanting to do a post on Valentine's Day for a little while now, I had some ideas running through my head and after being asked by a lot of my guy friends what they should do for the ladies in their lives I thought, why not make a little gift guide + thoughtful ideas post. This isn't only for men either, women can definitely get some ideas on what to do for their special guy. First, we'll start with the gift guide. Since I am a woman, I am speaking for all of us(I hope) when I say, NO STUFFED ANIMALS. The thought of receiving a stuffed bear makes me cringe. I'm sorry if that disappoints some of you, but I just can't. Unless you're 15 and want to hold hands at the county fair, it's just way corny. Plus adults that collect stuffed animals can be pretty creepy. Here's a cute little list for him & her:

iphone case // heart cutting board // ray ban wayfarers // swedish hasbeens
heart ring // red booties // earrings in a bottle

I think the most important part of Valentine's day is definitely the thought that goes into it, and not so much the candy, or flowers. I know all of those things, and even the little gift guide I made are all amazing, but for me Valentine's Day is a day that reminds us to appreciate the ones we love, and not take them for granted. I tend to lean towards handmade gifts or gifts with a special meaning, but if a date is planned, it's usually something intimate and personal. Here are some date ideas for you and your loved one this Valentine's.

Cook dinner together (or cook dinner for them- nothing is
better than your man making you a delicious dinner- ITS TRUE)
*Also, breakfast is a definite plus as well...
Get a couples massage
Watch your favorite movies together
Go somewhere you've never been
Wine / Beer tasting
Spend the day at the museum
Book a special weekend
Relive your first date just for fun
Go ice skating

The most important part? Just be together. Enjoy each other. Nothing is better than that. Any other ideas for fun Valentine's dates?

Thursday Haul

Hey guys! I am trying something new today, and something I hope you guys will enjoy. As some of you may know I am a huge Sephora fan, but also a huge fan of trying new products, especially beauty related. I wanted to start posts like this to give you guys a little bit of an insight as to what products I use on a daily basis, and what I like/dislike about them. I surprisingly get a lot of questions regarding my makeup and beauty routine, so I think this will be a fun feature to add on every week. Hope you guys enjoy, and let me know if you have any questions or have any suggestions of products to try!

Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment- $38
This is one of my new favorite products. I love the packaging, and I also love how smooth and thin it is, I think that's important for an eye cream. I haven't been using it very long but so far I have noticed a slight difference in my under eye circles.

This is coming from someone who never wore foundation, I LOVE THIS STUFF. It goes on smooth, blends in nicely, and definitely doesn't leave you with that "cakey" finish most foundations do. I went into sephora and one of the people working there actually helped me find one to fit my skin tone, I think this definitely helps when you don't know what you're looking for.
Tresemme Dry Shampoo-$5.29
Before buying Tresemme I was using PSSST dry shampoo, and I didn't really see much of a difference to be honest.  I probably use this product about once-twice a week depending on my schedule and it definitely makes a difference on those days when I need an extra boost. Only downfall is it turns your scalp white until you brush it through.

Sugar Rose & Sugar Fresh - $50 (pack of three)
I got these two little lip treatments as samples in my last sephora order and I really love them! The one on the right is more of a lip protector while the one on the left is the slight tint of red, which isn't over powering in its color. I definitely think I would buy the full size of these two lip treatments and I am happy I got them as a sample to try out first!

This was a complete impulse buy. Sephora definitely knows what they're doing when they put all the cute stuff by the register. I am not much of a lip gloss girl, but when it's based on more natural ingredients I definitely don't mind trying it out. Most of the other lip glosses I have tried end up drying my lips out.  This balm smells delicious and doesn't dry your lips out at all, it also helps that it comes in the cutest vintage inspired container. I love it!

What products have you been using lately?

As we all know, I am a jewelry junkie and these brands/companies have me falling in love with large statement necklaces, big rings, druzy stones and of course spikes!

Thinking about moving has my head spinning with redesign ideas. I can't wait to have my own place so I can decorate, I have so many things I would love to try out.

Friday Is For Favorites

bowler hat // leather shorts // maxi skirt // lace collared shirt // pearl collar // cat ring // booties

The great thing about going to a school based around fashion is the things you get to see every day. Every single person has a unique sense of style that radiates through everything they are wearing, and even their makeup and hair. Since I have only been in school for a week, I am still figuring out what I should be wearing to class,  and what is the most comfortable while commuting from an hour away. These are some of the items that caught my eye this past week while taking classes at FIT. The best way to learn about something, is to be immersed in it, and I feel like I am learning so much about my own personal style, but also about how style has evolved through time. It's such an interesting concept, and I can't wait to learn more about the evolution of my own style, as well as the history behind different fabrics, and textiles. I hope you all have a great weekend, I am off to the beach with my girlfriends tonight, and I can't wait to spend some time by the beach enjoying the weather, and some dance time. Happy Labor Day weekend everybody!

An Autumn Crush

Rope necklace // Serpent Ring // Thunderbird Necklace // Marc Jacobs Handbag // Jeffrey Campbell Wedges // Neutral Top // Jacket

Left to right: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5

I can't wait for colder weather, I am yearning for it! I have never been so excited for a season to take place, I don't even know who I am right now. I usually can't wait for the summer, and I despise the colder days coming in, but this year is different. I can't wait to spend another fall in New York City, it may be one of my most favorite memories of last year. I remember eating lunch and watching the leaves fall in central park. I also distinctly remember bundling up, freezing my tush off and hating my life, but now I actually want that...weird right?  I am so excited to fall back in love with the city that stole my heart. We have so much catching up to do! Until then, I will swoon over these fall styles until it's finally time to wear them again. Also, I am pretty sure I dreamt about a pumpkin spiced latte last night, it's official, I have a problem... I am waiting for you fall, get here soon please!

Jo Totes Review

Georgia Nautical Camera Bag- Courtesy of Jo Totes
Shoes-Courtesy of Bait / Dress-TJ Maxx

Today I am so excited to share my review of this amazing bag from Jo Totes. I must say, even though this may sound crazy, I have never had an "official" camera bag. I usually end up throwing things around in a spare bag, and then everything ends up on top of the other. When I received this bag in the mail, I couldn't stop looking at how pretty it is! The bag comes with all these little compartments that help keep your lenses or cameras in their own section. This helps when you're traveling and you want everything in its correct spot. After suffering for years without a camera bag, I can't really imagine what it would be like not having one now.

What I love most about the bag is how roomy it is, and how the nautical stripes pop as soon as you see it. The colors are perfect for the summer, and I feel like this bag could compliment any outfit. I also love the option of holding this bag as a satchel or being able to use the shoulder strap if you need it. I definitely found my match! I want to thank Jo Totes for providing such a gorgeous bag, I don't think I will ever leave home without it!

Here are some of my other favorites from Jo Totes, what are yours?
