Distressed Boyfriend Jeans & Layers

Finding a pair of boyfriend jeans as a petite woman is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I found these beauts the other day and immediately ran into the fitting room to try them on. They are the perfect, comfortable pair of jeans and although this is my first "baggier" pair, I am in love with the fit! For those wondering, I sized down, and since the bottoms are cuffed, the length didn't really affect my purchase at all.

 

I love these jeans paired with a pair of heels and an oversized tee. Mostly, I just love the holes in them. I always find it funny how trends come back into play years later. I remember when my sister wore ripped pants in the late 80's and 90's and now it's one of the biggest trends of the year. Fashion is cyclical in that way, it always ends up making a full return to the past.

I always think about what I'm wearing now, and how one day (years from now) my children will be asking me what was "cool" back in the day. I look back at my Mother's clothes and wish she kept them for me. Mostly because of the extreme bell bottomed jeans, huge sunglasses, and oversized platforms.

Summer Trends With Lulus. Com : Gladiator Sandals

Happy Tuesday guys! This is the last and final installment of my summer trends, and I had such a fun time doing all of these. If you haven't kept up with these posts, here are some past ones. (Flower Crowns  / Americana / Crochet) Gladiators are one of my favorite trends this summer and even though it's an old trend that carried over, I still LOVE it. 

Maybe it's the inner Greek in me, but either way I love the way they look, and I really love the fact that I feel like I am wearing boots, but they're actually sandals. It bridges the fall look into summer pretty well :)

Things have been pretty busy around these parts. I am either working, or running around trying to keep up with life. As usual there are never enough hours in the day, but I am trying to make my Summer days count. Above everything I am trying to fill my life with the things that make me happy, because ultimately that's what matters. I can't believe today is the first of July. Where did the time go?

Two more months of the hot sun is more than enough for me. As usual I am dreaming about Fall already. The grass is always greener, right?

Playing With Patterns

I think one of my favorite things to do lately is mixing patterns and textures. I really love the way the clashing textures fall together and work as if they were meant to find each other. We've had hot days here and there, but nothing consistent, and last week it pretty much rained for a week straight. I'm not complaining though, I love the rain. Gives me a chance to get things done and not get distracted by the beautiful day outside. 

Not much to talk about today, so I am going to keep it short. I hope you guys are having a great week. I am very busy planning out the summer and different things I have going on so I am feeling pretty scatterbrained.

Why do I love flower crowns so much? Because they can literally take any boring, plain outfit , and make it seem magical. I love the whimsical tone it adds to summer outfits, and it really makes me feel like I belong in a fairy tale sometimes. Call it childish, but there's something beautiful about flowers in your hair, especially colorful ones. I am in love with this flower crown from Lulus. Hey guys! This month I am super excited to share this mini series with you about discovering new trends for the summer. I always try to incorporate current trends into my personal style, and I find a way to make it work for me. One of my favorite trends this summer is definitely crochet tops and dresses. I really love the beautiful stitching and the lace detailing that goes into making a crochet piece. I also think it dresses the clothing item up and makes it look even more unique with a bohemian vibe that's perfect for any occasion.
