Minnetonka For The Holidays : Thanksgiving

I am so excited to be sharing this holiday series with Minnetonka today! I will be posting some ways to "dress up" your Minnetonkas this season for holiday parties, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I love the comfort that comes along with wearing their moccasins so I knew that sharing some cute holiday outfits would be really fun. This Thanksgiving was a super warm one. We had a bad rain storm two days prior so finally when the sun peeked out it was time to hangout with the family and eat our faces off.

I decided to dress up my Minnetonkas with a dark denim for Thanksgiving. Although I wasn't in a dress or heels, I think there's still an awesome way to dress up your outfits and still keep the comfort in what you're wearing. I was in my mocs all day and my feet felt perfectly comfortable, plus they were carrying the extra weight I put on from all the turkey I devoured :). I love the little feather accent on the side of these mocs. It adds a little pizazz to them and made me feel fancy for turkey day.

I can't believe we're already in December! Where did the time go? It seems like Christmas was months away, now it's right around the corner and the days just keep flying by. I can't keep up! Did you guys have fun for your Thanksgiving? What did you do ?

Oliver's first Thanksgiving was a success! He got a few bites of turkey and spent the day lounging around with my family. It's funny how quickly he's become a member of my household. My Mom obviously outdid herself as usual. She really can't do wrong in the kitchen, best cook--hands down. I am always happy for holidays to arrive but once they gone, I get a little sad because I know I have to wait another year for them to come back again.

Snaps & Updates

Hey guys! I am feeling very much under the weather today, so I just wanted to pop in and share some photos from Thanksgiving. Most of the weekend was spent doing my homework, and then of course today when my 10 page paper was due, the professor decided to cancel class...It actually worked out great because I wasn't really feeling up to going anyway. I usually get pretty sick once a year, and this might be it for me. Officially ran myself into the ground. Will I ever learn??

Also one more thing before I go. I was contacted by a lovely lady named Kellene who said I inspired her to help out for Hurricane Sandy relief. I had left her a comment a month back telling her how talented she was and how she should make some paintings of NJ and sell them to help aid those who were affected by the hurricane. She did such a beautiful job, and her paintings really are one of a kind. Please go check them out, and if you feel inclined, buy a painting to help the Red Cross aid in Sandy relief. Her shop is called The Lovely Little Day, and she has some beautiful pieces.

Thanksgiving Wear

I am pretty sure I'm still full from last night, but that's okay, I went to bed a very happy woman. This Thanksgiving was the first time my sister cooked and not my Mom, but the food was just as delicious. My Mom got sick a few days before Thanksgiving so she didn't feel up to it, and plans quickly changed. We had a delicious meal, great dessert, and a lot of lounging around and chatting. I love days when it's expected that you do nothing. Those days are the best for sure. I can't believe it's almost the end of November. This is when the Christmas panic starts to settle in. I hate the in between time and worrying about what gifts to buy who, and whether or not I am buying enough or too little. I know that's not the point but for some reason it stresses me out. I like being an awesome gift giver- so the pressure is on!

This is what I wore on Thanksgiving. A skirt is the best thing to wear when you want to eat like it's going out of style. Pants just would not cut it. HA! I am taking it easy this weekend, trying to get all my work done, I still have a 10-page paper and presentation to prepare for Monday, and I am definitely nervous about starting it. Last minute Maria is at it again. Hopefully the "I work great under pressure" rule still exists. I hope you guys had a great holiday with your loved ones, and I hope you have a great weekend doing whatever it is your heart desires. xo

A Little Trip To Holly Springs, NC

We had a really fun time in North Carolina this past week.  We got to do a lot of relaxing on this trip and I probably ate my weight in food...but that's what the holidays are about right?? It was really great to see Alex's Grandparents & Aunt, they are so sweet and were very happy to have us. The weather in NC was absolutely perfect, I didn't wear a jacket once all week! Even the weather in NJ is weirdly warm, it feels like spring in the fall...Not very happy that today is Monday but this week is very exciting, Saturday is my 25th birthday! Birthdays are always fun, it's nice to feel special for a day :) Hope you all had a fun Thanksgiving with your loved ones!
