Shoes / Lulu's, Rings / Vintage, Flower Crown / F21

Before publishing this post, or even writing it I uploaded the photos and decided to call this post "Wanderlust." I named the post that not only because that's the name of this gorgeous necklace, but also because traveling has been a topic of conversation lately.  Then sure enough I couldn't sleep last night so I was checking my horoscope as I laid in bed. The title of my horoscope today was...believe it or not...WANDERLUST. Weird right?

Traveling has been on the forefront of my mind lately. Hence, the title. I have traveled twice in the past month (Texas & Minnesota) and although part of it is draining and tiresome, I actually really love the adventure of it all. I love seeing new things, meeting new people and exploring as much I can. I know the older I get the harder it will be to take random excursions so I am trying to do it all now that I am young / healthy / without children.

I've thought about traveling, or even moving many times. I have always wondered where I will end up when I am "settled" in life. I used to dream of owning my own farm, and living a simple life...but then other days I think about what it'd be like to live in the city, where things are constantly moving and the pace is unstoppable. I still haven't made up my mind about where it is that I am meant to be.

If I wasn't as close to my family, I probably wouldn't have thought twice about moving. It came up a few times in the past and was a possibility due to work related instances. I do however, love being close to my family, especially now that my nephews are growing up and becoming little men.

Although I don't think I would ever move too far away, I still have this urge inside me that keeps telling me I need to see more, do more, travel more. I have this yearning for new culture, and to continue learning about different places and things. I am hoping one day I can see all that I want to see, and maybe that will satisfy my curiosity for a little while. For now I will keep daydreaming and planning all of these vacations in my head, and eventually, I think it will happen.

  3. I am struggling with the same ideas. I feel like I should move to where my boyfriend grew up because it would be an amazing adventure but.... its an 8 hour flight from my family on an island in the Atlantic! Thats a pretty big step for someone who's been landlocked her whole life! haha

  4. I'm close to my family and we all support each other no matter where we live. My sister lives in DC and my brother lives in Chicago. It is hard to live apart but I know they are living out their dreams!

  5. Ah! Those shoes are too cool! I had the wanderlust in my younger years, and actually moved across the country thinking I'd never come back. Turns out, the PNW is too beautiful and I just couldn't stay away. I'm a city girl right now, but part of me thinks there's a solid chance I'll move out into the country when I'm in my mid to late 30s. It's so peaceful out there, and I'd love to have a bit of land to do some very small scale farming!

  6. I completely understand the wanderlust. I studied abroad last fall and since then, I've toyed with the idea of working abroad. It would be terrifying and possibly not work out, but I love the idea of just moving somewhere and getting my start in a different country. Wanderlust man! It's the worst/best...

  7. I can totally see you seeing the world, and you should! Traveling was my #1 priority (aside from career) in my 20s and the first half of my 30s. And I moved all over the country too - but eventually I ended up back home. Now that we have a baby on the way, I'm having to put my wanderlust on hold for a few. But I know it will be back eventually. :) You look gorgeous sis, as always! xoxo

  8. I adore your outfit, and your hair. I too am suffering from Wanderlust, but I can't travel right now, so I'm having to content myself with books and movies that show places I want to go.

  11. I definitely always have the urge to keep traveling and learning about new cultures/places too! I grew up in Illinois and loved biking along the countryside and appreciating the orange sunsets, but now I'm living in New York and I'm getting used to a whole new lifestyle- the hustle and bustle and constant inspiration of the city! I love both states very much, and I'm not quite sure where I feel the most "settled" yet. My advice is just to keep traveling and learning about yourself until you've found the perfect atmosphere for you!

  12. I live in a constant state of wanderlust. I finally gave in and moved to South Korea for a year, but now I am back in Texas and I kind of like being settled (for now).

  17. I know exactly how you are feeling, down to the farm life vs city life. I can never figure out where I belong, but eventually I'm hoping it just comes to me. I'm sure it'll come to you too.

You look lovely here as well, I love that your floral headband isn't TOO much like many other bloggers' have been lately.
