Strawberry Pickin'

Hey guys! Happy hump day. Wednesday is the best part of the week, isn't it?  It's right smack in the middle of the week which means the weekend is near, and almost here. Last weekend we went strawberry picking with some friends and it was the first time I had ever actually done it. I've gone apple picking before, but this was my first strawberry experience. They were so juicy and delicious- we ate most of them before we even got home!

I finally remembered to bring my camera out with us! I always forget to carry it, but I am trying to make it more of a habit of bringing it with us on our weekend adventures. It was so hot on this day, so shorts and a muscle tee were necessary. It was also the first time I got to rock my wooden Jord watch. It's perfect for spring and I love that I can pair it with a casual outfit that can transition into night. Do you guys have any fun activities planned for the spring/summer?

Spring Touches In Home Decor

Don't you just love Spring? I love decorating my home and changing the things I buy with the transitioning seasons. I have been focusing a lot more on color lately, but still incorporating my vintage style. I'm also getting more plants and succulents which is super exciting because I love watching everything grow. Ryan makes sure that I keep fresh flowers around to brighten up some of the rooms in the house (and I love him for it).

I found these two milk glass vases at the thrift store near my house and fell in love! I love the way it makes my kitchen really come together with all of my vintage and thrifted pieces. Since I love vintage inspired art as well, I found this little number at Marshalls and knew I had to snatch it up. I love vintage typography signs and old bottles as well.

I find myself buying a lot more knick-knacks lately. I love having little jars and containers to store my jewelry and things. These two cute little guys were found at marshalls for under $5! I love the little hedgehog- he's my newest purchase.

How are you guys sprucing up your home for spring?

Twirlin' Around

Two days ago I was twirling around the neighborhood in this little number, and today is a torrential downpour. This Spring I decided I am going to be purging my closet and getting rid of pretty much all my old clothes. I am in desperate need for a closet refresh so that's my next plan. I want to use the money I make from my old pieces to buy a new more curated wardrobe.

I have so many things in my closet that probably haven't been touched in over a year, which is sad, but realistic for most women. I even have some things with the tags still on them! My new plan is to make better choices for closet staples, and buy clothes that are flattering to my body type and petite frame. I know you're probably thinking that this "trapeze" dress isn't exactly flattering, but it actually can be more form fitting with a belt to create a synched waist.

Hats and dresses will always be my go-to, but as I get older my style transitions in many different ways. I always love coming across things I used to wear and wondering what made me pick that piece to begin with. For now I will be focusing on bright colors, short hemlines and lots of patterns! What are your spring inspirations this year?

My Easter Best

This year Catholic Easter and Greek Easter landed on different days, so I get to celebrate twice! Double food, double desserts, and 75% off candy for next weekend! We spend Easter with Ryan's family and next weekend we'll be with my family and friends. Yesterday was one of the first nice days we have had in a long time. It's so nice to wake up, open the windows and breathe in some fresh air. It seems like it changes the whole day.

Although we're not in full swing of "bare leg" weather yet, I am enjoying the transition period with my tights on. I had a very eventful and busy weekend, did some unnecessary shopping and got to hang with my nephews. We even baked cupcakes together- which is something I don't do enough. Today I am spending the whole day with one of my best friends, and we're having a best friend/girls day starting with the gym, and ending with a mani-pedi! What do you guys have planned for today? Hope your Monday is great- don't forget to smile!

Neons In Spring -- Friday Favorites

Since I can't stop thinking about nicer weather I wanted to share some of my favorite photos from last Spring. I also have some great picks that I listed on the bottom of this post. This upcoming Spring I am loving bright colors and different patterns. I really love the neon colors popping up everything and I really, really love the "boho" look that is being styled into dresses. Anything that is off the shoulder, floral patterned, maxi with a flowing material sounds pretty perfect to me.

I am really excited to be leaving for Texas next weekend and can't wait for a taste for the warmer temperatures. Here's a glimpse into some picks for Spring, and some of my favorite photos from last year!

Into A Grey Sky Morning.

Although I work most of the day and I don't get to appreciate the sunlight, I do get to appreciate the beautiful night sky that comes after a long at work. That is enough to fuel my days. The colors of the sky the other night were so breathtaking that I don't even think photographing could really do it justice. It's that greyish-purplish-blueish glow that I long for, after a long day. It reminds me that Spring is here, and  that even after a long day cooped inside, I can come out and enjoy a beautiful night sky. I hope you all had a beautiful week, and I can't wait for the weekend. Although Greek Easter is next weekend, I am still going to celebrate with Alex and his family this weekend, and I hope(crossing my fingers) that the weather cooperates and I can enjoy a beautiful few days of sunlight and blue skies. It has been an amazing week, and I thank each and every one of you for taking the time to comment, tweet, email and text regarding my recent acceptance into FIT. You have no idea how great it feels to know that so many people believe in my passion, and want me to pursue it. Have a great Thursday everybody! Enjoy the weather and your loved ones!
