A Slice Of New Orleans : Part Two!

It's crazy that New Orleans literally happened over a week ago, I am still trying to recover from sleeping in and partying too hard, but it was all worth it. Here are some more pictures from our trip, I had over 200, so I had to limit them down, even though that was really hard considering how many cool pictures I took at the Audubon Butterfly Garden & Insectarium. As you can see above, the bugs were in full heat during our visit, every bug in every tank was getting it on...I'm not kidding.

In all seriousness though, visiting the Insectarium was one of my favorite parts of the whole trip. The butterfly garden was this big room where all the butterflies got to roam free, and birds too! It was so magical, I literally felt like I was in the scene of a movie, just watching them all fly around us and land wherever.  There were hundreds all over the walls, leaves and trees..It was absolutely beautiful. Besides the insectarium I think I had fun just doing nothing in New Orleans. It's easy to walk down the street and feel intrigued by everything going on around you. There was always live music, street entertainers, art being sold, and even different types of dance / visual theater going on. It's a place immersed in culture and there is so much to learn and see that I don't think a few days are enough. Bill and I both said if we ever go back we want to do more historical things, and possibly see some plantations, take a cemetery tour and take a ride through the swamp. Until next time New Orleans! You were a blast.

A Slice Of New Orleans

I can't even start to describe how much fun we had in New Orleans. We drank too much, ate till we couldn't move and walked around the city hundreds of times. We had such a blast and coming home was definitely a bummer. We came home to chilly weather and a very early morning which didn't even bother me one bit considering I had one of the best trips of my life. I will be putting up a second installment of photos, but I figured I should space it out since I took so many. I wish I had more pictures of the night life, but as we all know if drinking is involved the camera stays tucked away in the hotel room.

I must say beignets are even more delicious than I ever could have imagined. We had hurricanes and hand grenades from bourbon street, and pretty much every other drink you can think of. I missed traveling so much that I forgot how great it feels to be able to explore and wander, and have absolutely no plans. Bourbon street at night is the craziest place to be on earth. Picture the biggest frat party, multiply that by 10, and then add in bachelorette parties, drunk old people, rugby teams, locals, and an open container policy (you can walk around with drinks from bar to bar, or in the street). PURE INSANITY.

I still have pictures from the insectarium & some other local photos that I took while walking around. It's been a whirlwind of a week, but I am so happy it's almost over. My body still needs to catch up on sleep, and get back to the reality that is life. Spring break for me pretty much means working all week, so gotta keep going!

Happy Thursday! xo
