For those of you who have followed this blog for a long time, you're probably thinking....woah what is this outfit. Sometimes when you're getting all dressed up for an interview, you have to look the part, and sometimes that means stepping out of your normal comfort zone of everyday wear. I surprised myself when I went into Banana Republic and started piecing outfits together in my head. Prior to this I had never shopped there. I always considered it a store that didn't really fit my style. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I was being stupid. So what if it's not my style? I will make it my own regardless. The most important thing to me when picking out clothes, is making sure I love what I am wearing. If I love it, it doesn't really matter what store it's from.
Sometimes I surprise myself and I end up loving something I never thought I would. That's the awesome thing about fashion, you wear what you want, whenever you want and it's all about you. It doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks, as long as you're comfortable in your own skin! Have you ever stepped outside your comfort zone while shopping? How did you feel?
You look elegant and professional and chic! Love it! I bet you killed your interview too. xoxo

i am totally with you on this! i have been dabbling with different pieces lately that i would never have worn a year ago. Style should be fun, and make the wearer happy, thats whats most important. And this outfit is beautiful! you look happy and comfortable in it too and thats great! xx
ReplyDeletethis outfit is adorable. Love the top and that pretty necklace. I also really like the photos. Great Post.
ReplyDeleteWish you a lovely day.

You look adorable! All professional and stuff. :D You could wear a bag and look great though. Srsly. I step out of my comfort zone a lot when my family's involved. I like showing off my tattoos and having some edge and a little sex appeal, but they're so far from okay with that. So for them, to be respectful, I always wear pants (to cover my leg tattoos, even in the summer), and always cover my chest piece. And sometimes that involves flowery things.. Oh well!

ReplyDeleteI've been stepping out of my comfort zone by purchasing clothes that show a little more skin - sheer and I even got a midriff [Gasp!]. The old me would have never considered bearing my tummy in public!

exactly! if you love the pieces who cares :D
ReplyDeleteIf you love it, it doesn't matter where it is from. Though, I don't spend time in stores or on sites of places I don't normally shop at that often either... but it is fun to step out of the safety zone sometimes.
ReplyDeleteYour glasses are the best shape. Love love love this look so much!
