How I Use My Bad Days

Some days you want to just crawl under a big ole rock. Yesterday was one of those days. By the end of the day I felt defeated, and I was ready to just get home and go to sleep. It was one of those days when even the little things seem overwhelming, and nothing you do seemed to go the way I wanted it to. The world seemed to be my enemy, and I was not feeling it. On my way home I started thinking about bad days, how we handle them, and how I could possibly take myself out of such a crappy mood and salvage the last few hours of my day.

I came to one conclusion. Bad days are tests in a way. They are there to help us appreciate the good days, and also to challenge us a little bit. I decided on the train that instead of letting it take over the rest of my day, that I would simply try my best to learn from every single thing that happened, and use it to realign myself, and balance my thoughts.

Needless to say I pushed through it. I got home, wiped the lingering tears out of my eyes, had a good dinner and relaxed. As soon as I took a second to breathe and cut myself some slack, all seemed better with the world. The thing is, the bad days will always come and go. It's about understanding them, and just letting them go. No reason to hold onto the negativity. It came and went, and now it's over. Today is a brand new day. I hope you're all having a great week. xo

  3. Great thoughts about bad days. I think acknowledging them, rather than fighting them, sometimes takes away their power and gives it back to you, ya know? This outfit is so cute - I love the coat, and the necklace/sweater combo is great.

  4. Your sweater is so cute! Bad days are the worst, but I definitely agree with Sammi. Sometimes when you say, "This day sucks" you realize just how bad it is and can get past it. Have a great week!

  12. You have such a wonderful outlook - something that I'm working on a lot lately. So this post seems to fit me perfectly. I like to think, "Without darkness, you couldn't see the stars."

  13. this is such a great post. coping with bad days can be difficult; sometimes it feels like we can't escape them. but putting everything into perspective and turning the situation around is so productive. sometimes all you need is a moment to relax, clear your head, and smile :) that balance is really important! i'm glad you were able to find comfort and let go :)

  20. It's always a good reminder to stay positive and work through it. I have bad days that I'll let envelop me sometimes, but this is good motivation to push past that and make the most of what's left of the day. :)

  21. The bad days are important for balance. Also if it is the bad days which most bring themselves to your attention, it's a good sign that your life consists of days which are at least alright, if not even good or wonderful!
