Darling It Was Red

Hey everyone! Happy 2013, it's the start of something fresh and new, and hopefully this will be the best year yet! I took these photos yesterday on my day off, while doing some driving and exploring in my usual go to "blog picture spots." It has been really, really cold and I know Summer is far away, but I am dreaming of it already. I am definitely not one for cold weather, but I can appreciate it while it's here. I have been pretty busy even though school has been over and I feel like I am only going to get busier. {Drum roll please} I got accepted for my internship at Fashion Snoops! I should be starting early next week and I am over the moon ecstatic. In my heart I told myself I wouldn't accept an internship unless I felt it was 100% a good fit, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. I have a great feeling about this year, and I am hoping that I'm right.

I started off January 1st with a rough morning, including a flat tire and a frazzled Maria. It was freezing out, and my tire was not cooperating(it was literally frozen on) so we had to sit and wait for AAA. Lucky for me I was with Bill, and he made sure that everything was taken care of.  It's really nice to know that  no matter what happens, you have someone who can help you deal with these little bumps in the road (hah-or pothole). I feel extremely lucky coming into this year with someone who can laugh at all the silly  things that happen, and just go with it. It may have been a rough morning, but we made the best of it, and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

I am pretty sure this is the only red dress I own. I have never been one for solid red but this dress is the perfect jersey cotton and it fits like a dream. I also just got this cute little locket after seeing it on Melissa's blog. That's the great thing about blogging; all of the inspiration bloggers share with each other and the world. I love reading blogs that inspire me to try new things, or blogs that introduce me to companies or shops that I never knew about. One of my favorite things is when I see someone I know and they tell me they bought something because they saw it on my blog..Not only does it make me happy that I can provide that for my readers, but it also is great to promote small businesses and handmade shops. It's a win-win and I am really happy to be a part of it.

I hope you are all having a great start to the new year!
