Hundred Acre Wood

Details: Top & Skirt/Urban Outfitters, Glasses/RayBan, Shoes/Swedish Hasbeens, Orb Necklace/Dinosaur Toes, Floral Headband/F21

Hi everyone! Tomorrow I finally get to leave for my trip to see my family, and it's been crazy trying to pack and get everything together in time. It helps that I have the whole week off from work so I can focus on what I need to, and get it done. Some of you may recognize this outfit from the other day, pretty sure I posted it on instagram(@littletreevtg). This day was interesting, and I must say extremely long. On "those" days I love going to my little hidden corner in the woods because it really is peaceful. It's the perfect place to go and unwind and be alone with my thoughts. It would be a lot better without all the mosquitos but hey, not everything is perfect. It's still my magical little spot, and I don't want to share it!

While I was taking these shots I heard rustling in the wooded area behind me. The woods go on for miles, so I couldn't really tell where it was coming from. I got really nervous and scared, turned around and saw a male deer staring me in the face. We both stood there, not moving an inch, and wondered what the other would do. Since I am not "outdoorsy" by any means and I was in heels and a skirt, I didn't exactly feel comfortable in the woods, definitely not comfortable enough to fight off a deer for that matter. After saying a weird "HI!" to the deer and feeling like an idiot, don't ask me why, but my gut instinct told me to sing. So I did. I started singing this song.... weird right? I mean, David Bowie can do no wrong so clearly I went with it.

I don't know what came over me. The deer looked at me a little longer, and then went about his business eating leaves and things. He probably figured I wasn't a threat after the sweet rendition I did of Ziggy Stardust. I'm just glad I didn't have to go running in heels with a heavy tripod, could have been bad news. Just call me snow white, cause clearly I am at peace with the animals in the woods, next thing you know I will be humming with the birds.

That's my awesome story, so cool right? Have a happy Tuesday!

  2. Hahaha I love that you serenaded a buck with Bowie, that's wonderful. I was in the woods near my house this weekend too, and also saw a couple deer. I guess I shouldn't find that so exciting, but being a city girl, I still find wild animals to be pretty thrilling. Naturally, all of my photos turned out as blurry trees. I suppose it's one of those things best enjoyed in the moment though, don't you think?

  10. Haha "Cool story bro". I think I would've had a mini meltdown if an animal came up to me in the woods. I'm definitely not the outdoorsy type (although I love being in nature!) You look adorable as always! Have fun on your trip :)

  12. you look so pretty, mars! also, i love that you started singing to the deer; i'm pretty sure he's a david bowie fan...if he knows what's good for him.

also, i know what you mean about feeling like snow white. after we raised and released baby mockingbirds, i'd go down to that spot in the woods every day for the next two weeks and say, "baby biiiiirdies" and they'd fly to where i was and sit there with me for a while while i talked to them or read a book. then once i'd tell them i loved them and start to walk away, they'd fly off!
