Healthy Living Recipes : Turkey Lettuce Tacos & Sangria

Happy Monday guys! I am really excited to share today's recipe because it's probably one of my favorite so far. I love Mexican food, and any kind of spin I can make to a normal recipe is pretty fun to do.  I love tacos, and since I started on this clean eating kick I knew I always wanted to try lettuce wraps. I decided to do a "turkey taco" but in lettuce form, and pair it with a glass of Eppa Sangria. Prior to cooking I cut up some fruits and poured the sangria into glasses with ice and a splash of club soda. I let this sit in the fridge for approximately three hours before drinking it. This gets the fruit soaked well, and gives the sangria a better flavor overall.

This recipe, like most of my recipes is very easy and fast to make. You're cutting the calories in half by switching to a lettuce wrap and using lean ground turkey instead of beef. Tastes just as good, and is way better for you!

First, you want to brown your turkey meat on high heat. Once your turkey meat starts to brown, pour 2/3 cup of water in with your taco seasoning mix. Let this simmer on low heat for 3-4 minutes, and then drain.

Make sure you cut the cilantro, lime, and avocado prior to cooking, so you can easily add them to your tacos when you're all done. Squeeze half of a lime on each taco, and you're ready to go!

I usually make my own Sangria but I decided to give this bottle a try. It's certified organic, and has twice the antioxidants as a glass of red wine! It also has real fruit juices already mixed in so it's nice and refreshing.

Hope you guys have a great start to your week, and don't forget to try some of these easy recipes this summer!

I was sent a bottle of Eppa Sangria prior to writing this post.
The recipe and thoughts are my own. Thank you for supporting companies that support Little Tree.
