New York, Je t'aime

I am really going to miss New York City. As a young girl I always knew in the back of my mind that I wanted to end up in the city, whether it be working in it, or living in it...I wanted to live the fast pace life that everyone always spoke about, the "city life"...running from place to place, grabbing coffee at the bodega on the corner, sipping it while walking to work, in awe of everything going on around me...and it's true, New York is a beautiful, amazing city..I fell in love with it..If it weren't for the city holding me together, I would have probably fallen apart these 8 months carrying my heavy(I don't wanna go to work) feet..I will miss having lunch in central park, and sipping tea under the giant tree near where my work(soon to be ex-work) is.If I will miss anything about this experience, it's definitely all that the city has to offer...The feeling that everything is so busy and beautiful, and just happening...always amazes me..so much at times that I can barely focus when I am walking..I am still in awe of it all..I can say that this experience taught me something I may have not learned if I didn't work in New York...I can navigate like it's no one's business...I know the subways, I understand the streets, and I feel ---wait for it......comfortable..I am not scared of getting lost, and I love the unpredictability of it all, now it's more exciting actually being lost, because you never know what you'll find. The possibilities have always been endless, and that is why, I must finally admit...New York City, I love you.

And New York City, I will miss you.
I will capture you before I go.
And we may meet again, if I am lucky.
You are pretty.

Love,
Me.

P.S. thanks for helping me keep it together these past few months, couldn't have done it without ya!

  2. I used to always tell myself that I would never live in New York City. A lot of artists from my college moved here and I said that I wouldn't go because I needed green around me, and space and it would be too busy and crazy.

I moved here last year for work and I actually fell in love with NYC! I go away often on the weekend, and whenever I come back over the bridge I am so excited for all the city has to offer!
