I wanted to write this post to give my readers more of an insight as to who I am. To the blogging world I am a vintage enthusiast, a thrifter, and an etsy shop owner. What most of you don't know is that I also have another job, which I love. Besides the shop and blogging, I also work as a Child Life Specialist. Most of you are probably thinking, what is that?
The proper definition is:
Trained professionals with expertise in helping children and their
families overcome life’s most challenging events.
Child life specialists promote effective coping through play, preparation, education, and self-expression activities.
They provide emotional support for families, and encourage optimum development of children facing a broad range of challenging experiences, particularly those related to health care and hospitalization.
They also play a vital role in educating caregivers, administrators, and the general public about the needs of children under stress.
(taken from childlife.org)
So there it is, that's what I do. I love working with children in any environment but working in a hospital gives you a different perspective on a lot of things, especially the little things we all take for granted. It makes me appreciate my health most of all, and makes me understand how scary life can be at times. I always feel great knowing I can help those in need, it makes life a lot more fulfilling.
Some other things you may not know.....
The children in my photos are my nephews :) - not my babies,
although I do spend a great deal of time with them so they are basically my little guys too!
Something you may or may not know-
I am extremely small, and no it doesn't bother me, I am actually completely fine with it.
(Yes i was part blonde)
Most of my family lives far away. I have cousins in Cyprus, Greece, Australia,
New York, Minnesota, and many more..We are all spread out, but still remain in touch,
I love and miss all of them.
I have the best friend in the whole world. Who also happens to be my boyfriend.

My computer has 11,000 pictures and almost 350 movies..I like to make memories I guess?
I also love to travel, I backpacked with one of my good friends about three years ago, and it was one of the best experiences of my life, I can't wait to do more of it.
Well that's all for now- happy tuesday everyone! Hope that gives you a
better look into the girl behind the blog!

P.S. I just awarded you the Stylish Blogger Award. Check out my blog to see what I'm talking about!
I am so glad that my first stop to your blog had a top post like this one - what a lovely introduction to who you are (from many different aspects).
ReplyDeleteI love that you said you are extremely small and okay with it - I am extremely tall (6'0ft), and okay with it. Self confidence is the most important thing!
Must check out your etsy shop - I just inherited a 1950's Cresta lace dress from my grandmother who passed away last September and I love that it holds such history within it. And lucky me, it fits me perfectly!!
Will be back for a visit.
